Ciao tutti,
It seems I've got a small problem with the original cases in my Capo RR.
Every time i put them on or take them off I manage to scratch the metal frames they attach to
Now I don't know if I am doing something wrong or not, but I think it's a design fault, because there are two sharp corners in the side boxes, that scratch the frame.
I've tried to file them a bit to make them smoother but it's not that easy.
I've tried to unscrew the whole thing from the back but again I didn't do any better
At the moment I'm trying to use them with some cloth tape on the back of the side cases....
I don't know if it works yet or not.
So is there anyone else with a similar problem (ALEX LI I think, he's got an RR-but he doesn't visit the English forum)?
Or any other ideas?
Any help would be appreciated

I hope i can take some pictures during the weekend!!!
I am patient
It would be great if somebody can get in touch with him to ask him if he's had any problems with his side cases !
I was also looking at the Touratech catalogue (pages 151, 176 in the English catalogue), because the cases are Hepco-Becker, and they have something similar for their cases. I think the big difference is that the Touratech (Zega) ones have something that looks like a rubber wheel in the top part (which shouldn't scratch the case frames), whereas the Aprilia ones have only metal corners
I'll try and take some pictures so I'm more specific...

Hi
Here's some pictures from the cases and the frames.
The part that's causing the problem is in the top right and left of the case.

Let me know if you want me to send the pictures in the info@aprilia.com, because they are big...

Ciao Makis,
Alex answered me to your question that also his cases are "scratching" a little bit the cases frame...
But this is happening not only onto Aprilia bikes, but in all the bikes fitting metal frames and cases...
He is not giving to this issue any relevance... he thinks is let's say "natural" worn of an off road bike...
I don't know if this is also the others RR owners opinion... but I guess is a "real personal" evaluation to categorize it as a defect or not...

Ciao Attila,
Grazie!!
Say grazie to Alex as well !!!
It's just that I previously had Nonfango side cases (plastic), and there was not a problem.
I never had aluminium side cases so I wouldn't know about them.
But looking at the Touratech catalogue, I can see that their cases look a bit better designed.
My opinion is that is a design problem, but of course not Aprilia's but Hepco-Becker.
Of course it would be fine if most of the time you had the cases on, but I don't think it looks very nice when you take the cases off, especially if the bike is new
Maybe in a year's time I won't mind so much
Anyway, I'll keep trying to find a solution (maybe I'll try to get the support plates off the cases and try to round the corners a bit - although it seemed very difficult in the first place).
Thanks again Attila and Alex
